Virginia Towell Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Virginia Towell, daughter of the late Albert Samson and Alice Beatrice Bunn.
She was predeceased by her brothers Albert Jr., Brian, Stanley, Russell Bunn, John Bunn (Phyllis), Sister Helen Prince (Eddie), her favorite brother in law Richard David Beaulieu, her sons Stanley (Buddy) Sinclair, Charles (Chucky) Beaulieu and granddaughter Natasha Bunn-Palmer.

Left to mourn is her partner in life, Gary Empey. Sister Shirley Beaulieu and Brother Patrick Bunn (Angela). Daughters Stephanie Bunn (Ken), Helen and Stacey Beaulieu (Hector) and son Richard Beaulieu. As well as nieces and nephews in which she cherished as her own, Shannon (Mike), Wesley, Nathaniel and Ashley Bunn-Beaulieu (Errol). Also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Virginia was a proud and beautiful indigenous woman who lived in a little home alongside the river in Brokenhead Ojibway Nation with her partner Gary, who has been by her side for over 20 years.
They had spent years making their house their home. A place where family and friends could go to visit, have a cup of coffee, share a laugh or a cry, tell stories, or even spend the night. She had a heart of gold and made a difference in many peoples lives. Her humorous sarcasm made many laugh and I’m sure a lot of us couldn’t believe some of the things she said.
As we mourn this loss, we ask that everyone remember her the way she was and cherish the memories you all had with her.
We would like to recognize and thank Selkirk General Hospital staff for their kindness, support and care for Virginia while she had been there.
Eulogy written by second eldest granddaughter Amanda Bunn-Palmer.
