Violet was born in Hodgson, MB., where she grew up for most of her childhood and met some great families who she adored on the farm. She then later moved to Winnipeg where she settled in her house on Monreith St. Violet met the love of her life William Buzan, whom she later married in 1963.
At a young age she worked at Woolworths for 10 years, then later moved onto the Central Processing department at the Health Science Centre for 25 years before she took early retirement.
In her early years she loved going to Patterson's barn to dance (Jive) the night away. Assiniboine Downs is where she enjoyed watching the races from up in the club house. She was known for her famous cabbage rolls and always had a pan for every special occasion especially for her Grandkids. Every Friday evening she listened to gospel hour and time to sing with her grandson Dylan by her side, Amazing Grace was her favorite. Throughout the years she enjoyed playing cards with many close friends, double deck and blackjack were her favorite. Going down the highway to Half Moon, eating chinese food, or having a BBQ and ice cream in Niverville with the kids, was one of her many favorite things to do. She also loved to sit back to knit slippers and play double session bingos in her spare time.
As per Violet’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a short graveside service will be held at Chapel Lawn Cemetery located at 4000 Portage Ave., on Wednesday, September 28th at 1:00 pm.
