Tony James Obituary

Tony lived a life full of purpose and faith. He spent his days working hard as a semi-truck driver and a school bus driver, always taking pride in helping people get where they need to go. He was known for travelling far and wide, but no matter where he went, he carried the same gentle heart with him.

He had a deep love for kids, for animals, and most of all, for Jesus. His faith wasn’t just something he talk about – it was something he lived. He prayed with his whole heart, sometimes with his arms raised high, and he read the bible every single day. He had a passion for spreading the gospel and helping others find their way to church, both literally and spiritually.

Tony was also a leader in a very personal way. As a peer leader at Saans Store, he supported others with patience, wisdom, and compassion. People were drawn to him naturally – he had a calm, steady presence that made others feel welcomed, respected, and understood.

Tony also loved sports. He played baseball when he was younger, and later in life, hockey became his favourite – especially cheering for the Winnipeg Jets. He also enjoyed playing pool, spending many evenings sharing laughs, friendly competition, and good company around the pool table. Those moments brought him so much joy.

But what made him truly special wasn’t just what he did – it was who he was. A helper. A believer. A man who gave more than he took. Someone whose presence made the world feel steadier and kinder.

We will miss his prayers, his stories, his leadership, his dedication, and his love. But the legacy he leaves behind – rooted in faith, service, and compassion – will stay with us forever.

He leaves to mourn his children Leanne, Benjamin, Beatrice, Ashley, Nicolas, and Joshua. He carried each of them in his heart every day of his life.

He will also be deeply missed by grandchild Thelma (Diontay), and his precious great-grandchildren Drayson, Deanna, and Delilah, who brought him much joy and pride. His presence in their lives will forever be a blessing. He leaves to mourn his siblings Donna (Brad), Sandra, Mary Doreen, Gene, Sam, and Rose, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Edward Boyer.

Pallbearers: Diontay Sumner, Kendall James, David James, William Bouchie, Benjamin James, and Nicolas James.
