Stanley Loyd Auger was born June 14th, 1938, in Winnipeg, Manitoba and passed away during the cold blistering winter storm in the early morning of December 18th, 2025, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at Poseidon long term care home. There was comfort there, held gently within the storm, as if even turmoil knew to make space for peace. Honouring his life at his bedside was his daughter Madonna & his son in-law John accompanied by his daughter Carla and grandchild Dante.
He is survived by and leaves to morn his children Carla Cole, Annette Auger, David Cole, Madonna Cole (John Ledger), DJ Cole and his godson Steve Flatfoot. His grandchildren Jessica, Kali, Angel, Danielle, Dante, Chance, Lovairah, Margaret-Rose, Joanna, Tannis, Trent, Tanya, Jacqueline, Kira, and many great grandchildren. His brother Alfred Auger and Sisters Joan King, Christina Dickson, Evelyn Muir, Gertrude O’Brien, and Kathleen Underwood, along with many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly throughout his life.
Stanley was predeceased by his beloved wife Dale Auger whom he married in September 1988, his brother Charles Auger and sisters Barbara Ann Auger, Margaret Auger, and Alice White.
Stanley was a hard-working man throughout his life and encouraged others to do the same. Stanley impacted many lives and played a major role in raising and supporting the young people in his life. Stanley enjoyed a good laugh amongst good company. He enjoyed sharing stories of his ‘younger days’. In the last phase of life, he still expressed a love for family, humour, and the farm. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate and honour the life of Stanley, on Saturday Jan. 3rd, 2026, at 1pm, at Eternal Grace Funerals (10-1111 Logan Ave. Winnipeg MB).
