Sherri was born on December 14, 1975 and raised by Lydia and Peter in Cross Lake First Nation. She touched many lives through her loving-kindness, sincerity, humor and generosity. Sherri loved the outdoors, going for walks with her friends and family, gazing at the stars, listening to the rain and thunder and watching the northern lights.

She resided in Winnipeg for over 17 years, where she met Adam and began her own family with the birth of her precious daughter Avery on May 17, 2010. She loved her baby girl and treasured her with every breath she took, and showed her love for her through her daily actions and how she spoke to her. She loved her stepchildren Ayana, Madison and Gabriel as her own. Sherri pursued her nursing degree and worked in various administrative capacities such as at the Cross Lake Nursing Station, Cross Lake Band Office, and Winnipeg Regional Heath Authority. On October 21, 2017 Sherri and Adam were joined in marriage surrounded by family and friends. Over the past few months, she spoke of wanting to be baptized as part of her preparation, and her dream was finally realized on December 30, 2018 in the presence of her family and friends.

Sherri’s laughter was contagious. Her laughs came with a hand clap and if she was close enough to you, she would elbow or slap your arm! She was so caring, understanding and had the biggest heart. We will miss her beautiful smile, loveable nature, smiling eyes, and her trademark sayings such as “Hi.....Akwaaaa??” or “God is so good”.

Sherri loved to fellowship with others, and encouraged us to have faith in God whatever the circumstances. Throughout her life, she was more than happy to share her testimony of how Jesus continued to bless her and her family. Her faith was so very special to her and the Lord was always first in her life; knowing that her strength came from Him.

One of Sherri’s favorite verses:

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear…”

1 John 4:18
