Shanice Pocess Tia Guiboche

Shanice Pocess Tia lived and grew up in the central area of Winnipeg, all her 29 years. She attended Rising Sun in her early years and went to R. B. Russel for cosmetology. Shanice was a strong-willed young woman, sticking up for her friends and family that needed help. She was also a bit gullible, like when Joni told her that George Jones was her dad, that’s why the song Don’t Cry Joni was made. Shanice asked Judy (their mom) if that was true. There mom said “yes”. Shanice started her family at an early age, she loved her children with all her heart. She always hung around with her sisters, keeping in touch with the family at gatherings.

Shanice leaves behind to mourn her dad Chris Barker, his wife Sheila Barker; sisters Joni, Louise, and Karlee; brothers Christopher, Wayne, Anthony and Christien (Teri); children Carson, Kylie, Kian, Talia, Clara, and Catalina; grandpa Daniel Chartrand; Grandma Nancy Barker, numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her mother Judy Guiboche; brother Jason Guiboche; sister Lacey Guiboche, and aunt Betty; uncle Binks; grandparents Louis Chartrand and Norman Nepinak and cousin Dwayne.

Friends and family can gather on Sunday February 16,2025 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Eternal Grace Funerals. Cremation to follow.

Honorary pallbearers are all her friends and family.
