On January 5, 2022 at 11:45 am one of our great warriors started his journey today.
Ron Pierre was 73 years young and leaves to mourn his daughters Rhonda (Mike), Andrea (Brent, Tamara, Rocket) and his sons Byron, Ron Jr, Nicholas as well as his grandchildren, Cody (Hilary, Serenity, Juliet), Alison (Julian, Nevaeh, Madden, Zander), Jonah, Mathew (Brianna, Jonah, Emma), Nikita, Raydon, Ethan and Michael Jr.; his brothers, Vincent, Hubert, and Melvin; his sisters, Vera, Carin, Mary and Lorette; many niece's and nephew's.
Predeceased by Madeline Pierre (mother), James Pierre (father); brother's Gordon Pierre, Hector Pierre, Arthur Pierre, Leslie Pierre, Victor Pierre; sister Helen Pierre.
Ron is a survivor of residential schools and reconnected with his Ojibway roots. Ron found happiness in attending ceremonies and supporter of his culture that helped him overcome trauma of residential schools. Ron was a fire keeper for many years at our sweat lodge in Roseau Rapids North.
Wake service and Final Feast will be held on Friday January 7, 2022 from 6pm-8pm at The Makoons Centre Roseau First Nation. Final traditional teaching will be held on Saturday January 8,2022 from 12 noon-2pm at Eternal Grace Funerals. Wake service will continue till 8pm.
