On Monday January 13, 2025 at Ste. Boniface Hospital, Randy passed away at the age of 71.
He was pre-deceased by his father Casey in 1999 and mother Nettie in 2002. Randy is survived by
two sisters Angela (Bill) Solylo, Pat (Ken) Spicer,
his nephews Ken Spicer, Bob Spicer, William Solylo (Melanie), Clifton Solylo (Tanya),
and his best friend, his golden retriever Bailey.
After retiring from Winnipeg Transit (1975-2009),Randy took on
seasonal employment as a concrete mixer truck driver and dump truck driver till he fully retired 4 years ago.
In his retirement he enjoyed looking after his yard, spending time with the Manitoba Corvette Club
on outings with his classic Corvette and on occasional bike trips on his Indian Scout motorcycle.
Most recently he could be around the neighbourhood on his ATV plowing snow for the neighbours. Randy hosted a wednesday nite wing night grathering for many years of which members came and went, we all waited for the B&W notice on our phones to reply if we were coming or not, It was held at the tavern at garden city hotel for many years and lastly this past few years at Smittys at grarden city mall, of which he made many friends with the staff at those locations He will be missed by his close friends Don, Bruce, Neil, and Kurt. The family would also like to thank Randys neighbour and friends Edith and Kim for watching over Bailey during the times he spent in the hospital, it made Randy thankful for the care of his best friend.
Randy's service will be held at Kildonan Park June 22nd, 2025, at the location shelter of Turtle and beaver North Field, from 12:30pm to 4:30pm.
