It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Nelson Birston at the age of 56, in Winnipeg MB.
Nelson is predeceased by his grandparents Bud & Agnes Birston and Archiebald & Edith Demeria; his parents Nelson & Ruth Birston; his sister Charlene Birston; his daughters Ruth Anne Birston, Alexia Linklater, and his son Elliot Birston.
Nelson leaves to mourn his sister Connie Birston; his brother Conrad Birston; his son Alex Birston; his daughters Alicia Linklater and Angelina Linklater; his grandchildren Adalina, Anastasia, Gerald, Charles, Trevino, Tyrell, Analia, Damien, Amberyia, Zayden, and Xavier.
Nelson was a proud Ironworker of Local 728 since his early twenties, then obtained his Red Seal in his thirties. He has put his hands on a lot of structures and monuments in Winnipeg, Northern Manitoba, and British Columbia.
Nelson loved fishing and camping; he enjoyed just being outdoors whenever possible. He also enjoyed playing chess with his son Elliot.
Viewing to be held on Thursday April 23, 2026, from 6pm – 10pm, at Eternal Grace Funerals (10-1111 Logan Ave. Winnipeg MB).
Cremation to follow.
