Michael Dano Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend Michael (Mikey) Shane Dano on Tuesday August 6, 2019.

Mikey will be so lovingly missed by his mother Wanda and father Earl; brothers Earl Jr., Cory (Melissa); sister Destiny; nephews Blaze, Joziah, Cruz, Isaiah; nieces Mercedez, Majik, Lily, Tatyanna and Aurora Dano; and his dog Chewy.

Mikey leaves to mourn his grandmother Gertrude Dano; aunts and uncles David (Becky), Brian (Colinda), Clarence (Wendy), Michael Ross, Billie McKay (John) and Kris Menard (Jake), Doris Parkes (Wayne), Patricia Clarke (Dale), George (Liz), Segie, Vern (Trish), Gary Dano (Alice), Linda Chartrand (Miles); numerous cousins and friends too numerous to mention.

Mikey was predeceased by his grandpa’s Russell Ross January 11, 2005 and George Dano May 2017 and his grandma Violet Ross July 29, 2018.

Mikey grew up in Lake St. Martin and later moved away for school. He eventually began commercial fishing in Lake Waterhen with his brother Cory. He was preparing to fish again this fall with his uncle George. He also managed fish sheds in Dauphin River and Riverton. He was a real outgoing  guy who talked to everyone. He was the type of individual you don’t forget because his sense of humor was contagious. He was a very caring and loving person to all he loved, especially to his nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Trying to be serious with him always ended with good laughs and I love you. He loved his music and played his guitar. He was always optimistic no matter what he went through in his life. He had a nickname “button eyes” given to him by his late grandpa Russell who he was close to and missed dearly. They both shared the same sense of humor and qualities and weren’t scared of anything.

Wake service will be held on Friday August 16, 2019 7pm – 12 midnight at the Chief Cornerstone Church 384 Talbot Ave. Reverend Robert McLean officiating.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 17, 2019 at 2pm at Lake St. Martin School.
