Mavis Jamie Brass

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mavis Jamie Brass, beloved mother, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend.

Mavis was born in Hudson Bay Saskatchewan on July 27, 1977, and passed away with her family by her side on October 7, 2025, at 12:09pm at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 48 years.

She leaves behind her children, Marissa, Amisty, Charlie, and Wednesday. Her father Norman Kematch, her sister Darlene Muibuche, her stepsister Sheila Kematch, her brothers Conrad Johnson, Gilbert Brass and Richard Brass, her stepbrother Faron Kematch and her Uncle Ron Cook. As well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mavis was predeceased by her mother Maryjane Cook, her sisters Eileen Brass, Sabrina (Brass) Maytawasing and her brother Ricky Brass, as well as many other relatives too numerous to mention.

Pallbearers: Richard Brass, Gilbert Brass, Conrad Johnson, Chad McDonald, and Anaustin Cook-Leask.

Officiating: Ernest Kematch and Calvin Campeau.

Wake will be held on Monday October 27, 2025, from 7pm-11pm at Eternal Grace Funerals.

Funeral service will be held the following day Tuesday October 28, 2025, at 11am, also at Eternal Grace Funerals.

Interment at Brookside Cemetery.
