Marcel Joseph Mercredi

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Marcel Mercredi on November 28th 2021 at 6:45 pm at the age of 78. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 57 years Dorothy. Sons; Bradley (Barb), Wesley, Stanley, and Gerald. Daughters; Evelyn and Stacey. Marcel had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he loved and adored. He is predeceased by his parents; Ovide Mercredi and Evelyn Mercredi (nee Beardy). Brothers; Adam Moore, Cyril Moore, Peter Mercredi, Louie Mercredi, Sisters; Eliza Kirkness (nee Moore), Sarah Guay (nee Kirkness), and Rita Mercredi. 

Marcel was born and raised in Thicket Portage, Manitoba. He met his wife and raised his family there. He was a loving father and husband. He had a special bond with his daughters. He was the best grandpa and spoiled his grandchildren. He worked hard all his life for CN Rail and HBR, he passed on his hard-working ethic to his sons. Marcel was kind hearted and would always give a helping hand. He was a big part of his grandchildren’s lives and took them every chance he got. His favorite hockey team was the Montreal Canadians and he loved to watch them play. He was known for always wearing a Montreal hat wherever he went. Marcel loved to hunt, listen to music, and spend time with his family.  Most of all, he loved his wife. 

Wake service will be held on Tuesday December 7,2021 from 7pm-10pm at Eternal Grace Funerals.

Funeral service will follow on Wednesday December 8,2021 at 12:30 at Eternal Grace Funerals.
