Louisa Marie Catcheway

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend; Louisa Catcheway on March 5th, 2026, at the tender age of 61 years old.

Louisa who also went by Louise, will be lovingly remembered by her three children Diana Catcheway (Serge Chartrand), Brenda Catcheway (Daniel Twoheart), and Nelson “Raymond” Catcheway (Jennifer Seaton). Her siblings: Cheryl & Chris Bewell, Harold Catcheway, Suzie Catcheway, Giselle Catcheway, and Jennifer Sward.

Louisa was also a grandmother and leaves behind Shanice Catcheway, Rylen Catcheway, Aidan Tobacco, Chase Catcheway-Seaton, Credence Catcheway, Everyn Catcheway and little Daniel Catcheway.

Louisa was predeceased by her mother Lucy Catcheway and brothers Richard and Lawrence Catcheway, and the father of her three adult children, Raymond Butler.

Mom was born on a blustery winter day during a snowstorm, on the 27th of January 1965. Lucy Catcheway was taken in a horse sleigh to Winnipegosis where Louisa made her grand entrance.

She lived in the community of Skownan First Nation until the family relocated to the city of Winnipeg. As an adult she briefly lived in Ontario until finally settling back into Winnipeg. Mom loved to joke and laugh and anyone who knew her, knew she had a heart of gold and an infectious energy that radiated in the way she loved and cared for others. She loved to go out into her community where she was well known and take part in community events and activities. She loved going to Bible Study every week, going to church on Sundays, having coffee with friends, reading, watching movies at home and keeping herself busy. She also made the best fry bread!

Wake services to be held on Tuesday March 24th, 2026, from 7pm – 10pm, at Eternal Grace Funerals (10-1111 Logan Ave. Winnipeg, MB). A short reception will follow the wake.

Funeral services to be held on Wednesday March 25th, 2026, at 12pm, also at Eternal Grace Funerals.

Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Nelson Catcheway, Preston Catcheway, Frank Catcheway, Serge Chartrand, Vernon Raven, and Lenny Catcheway.

Honorary Pallbearers: Daniel Twoheart, Aaron Bruce, Rylen Catcheway Aidan Tobacco, Skyler Catcheway, and Harold Catcheway.
