Leslie Henry Orvis Sr.

Its with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father Leslie Henry Orvis Sr on Dec 27, 2024, at the age of 81 years born Feb 22, 1943 

Leslie leaves behind his children Cheryl Everett (Ronnie) Joyce Green (Larry) Nina Green (granddaughter Symfanie) Matilda Raven Viola Skye Verna Leveque Peter McKay Edwin McKay Brendan Everett (Chelsea); he also leaves behind his grandchildren; great grandchildren; his only sister Illa Hamilton; 2 daughters in laws Lillian Orvis and Samantha McKay; his 3 nieces Elaine Duck (Charles) Rachael Orvis (Clayton) Myrtle Hamilton. 

Leslie was predeceased by his beloved wife Doris Orvis, his boys Leslie Orvis Jr and Oliver McKay, his 2 grandchildren Henry and Dora Orvis his parents Peter and Florence Orvis and his 3 nephews Roland Hamilton Ben Orvis and Henry Orvis 2 nieces Christine McKay and Illa Young. 

Dad would like to spend time on the river fishing with his friends or occasionally his son in law or grandson taking a lot of pictures and enjoying his time with whomever he was with. 

Dad took pride in his skills of a hunter, that when he was asked to show the youth how to prepare or set the traps. He would do it with the help of his long-time friends William Young and Kenneth Benson. 

Dad would spend time with his nieces husband Charley Duck Sr driving around in the water truck joking around with the people they would meet up with. Dad had a sense of humor for sure when he wanted.

Pall Bearers Peter McKay, Brendan Everett, Joel McKay, Gary Everett, William Young, Ricky Green. Honorary Pallbearers will be all his children, Cheryl Everett (Ronnie), Joyce Green (Larry), Nina Green, Matilda Raven, Viola Skye, Verna Leveque, Peter McKay, Edwin McKay, Brendan Everett (Chelsea) and all his grandchildren and Great grandchildren.

Wake service will be held on Sunday January 19,2025 from 7 p.m.-11 p.m. at Eternal Grace Funerals. Wake service will continue Monday January 20,2025 and Tuesday January 21,2025 at the Bloodvein Band Hall. Funeral service and burial will follow on Wednesday January 22,2025 with interment at St. Marguerite Cemetery, Traverse Bay, MB.
