Leslie Neil Mason

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Leslie Mason (White Bear, Waabishkaa Makwa) on Thursday February 13, 2025, at the age of 45.

Les was survived by his dad Lloyd Bone,Pam ; children, Ciarra, Tristan, Tamecia, Jennifer, Jenessa, Chase, Brooklyn, Paige, Mason, Journey, Kashtin and Justice.  Step-children, Deserae, Serenity, Benny, Patience, and Essence. Grandchildren, Kaia, Lexi, Kade, Matias, and Jayden. His siblings Ruth, Margo, Germaine, Matrina (Buzz), Jody (Tamara), Janice, Corrina, Deedee, Christopher, Amanda, Tamara, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was predeceased by his mother Judy Mason, adopted parents Gloria & Jacob Swain. Sisters, Selena and Vida. Brothers, Jason, Jack, and Corey. Nieces, Raegan and Tiffany. Nephews, Jake and Justin.

Les was born on February 24, 1979, in Gimli, Manitoba. He was a loving devoted father, a protector, a hard worker and a guide with his wise words to anyone around him. Whether he was hunting, skidooing or out on the water with his kids on the jetski, he was happiest surrounded by nature and those he loved most.  His passion for hockey ran deep, and he carried the same determination in the game as he did in life, never giving up and always pushing forward. He was a dedicated Sundancer honouring his spiritual path with his commitment to completing his four years in 2019.  He walked his journey with purpose, always striving to do his best with what he knew. 

Above all, Leslie was a loving father, a protector, and a guide to his children. His greatest joy was watching them grow, sharing his wisdom and creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever.

Wake services: Wednesday, February 26, and Thursday, February 27, in Berens River at the United Church

Funeral service: Friday, February 28, 2025, in Berens River
