Kevin Jesse McKenzie

Kevin Jesse McKenzie (Four Feathers - Neniiwin Miigwan) passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at the Health Sciences Center at the age of 48, surrounded by loved ones. Kevin was born and raised in Winnipeg; a place he always called home where he built many lasting friendships.

Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his partner Danielle Stevens; his mother Brenda Mckenzie; his father Gary Moar; his children Sierra Assiniboine; Josh Assiniboine; Lynniah Assiniboine and Grandson Nikolaus Belanger; his siblings Richard Mckenzie; Joel Scott; Jordan Moar; and Gerard Moar and many aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. He will be deeply missed by his family friends and all those who knew his big heart, humor and gentle spirit.

Kevin was known for his loyalty, generosity, and a big heart that was always willing to help others. He had a strong spirit that carried him through his challenges in life, and his presence brought warmth and laughter to every gathering.

A sacred fire was lit in his honor and burned or 4 days, tended to with love and prayers from family and friends. We give thanks to everyone who came to sit with the fire, brought offerings and helped honor his journey to the spirit world.

A wake will be held Sunday October 26, 2025, from 7pm – 11pm at Eternal Grace Funerals (10-1111 Logan Ave Winnipeg Manitoba). And a funeral service to follow on Monday October 27, 2025, at 11am, also at Eternal Grace Funerals, with a lunch after. He will be buried at the St Vital Cemetery with his ancestors. All who loved Kevin are welcome to attend, share memories and help send him off in a good way.
