Kayla Rose Eileen Hudson

Winnipeg lost one of it’s brightest lights on December 26, 2025, with the passing of Kayla Rose Eileen Hudson at the age of 32.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Kayla was a woman of profound strength and radiant beauty. True to her middle name she was a “Rose” who bloomed even in the most difficult seasons. She possessed a rare gift for alchemy – the ability to take troubling times and turn them into something better, always finding the silver lining and infusing every situation with joy and relentless positivity.

Kayla was a true adventurer, a “Butterfly” who refused to be pinned down. She moved through the world with a courageous heart, never afraid to step into the unknown, experience new things, or welcome a stranger as a friend. Her spirit was one of constant motion and discovery.

Her greatest legacy is her son, Gabriel Hudson, who was the center of her world. She is survived and deeply missed by her parents, Muriel Hudson and Chad Baptiste, Paula Aruda; her siblings, Shyanne, Jon, Dalton, Nikita, Kiena, and Mika; her niece Payton and nephew Sherwin; and a vast, loving circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Hudson, Baptiste, Greene, Bear, George, Melvin, Campbell, and Taylor families.

Kayla now spreads her wings in the company of those who went before her, including her grandparents Elieen and Wilfred Hudson, Rosalie and Boniface Baptiste, step-grandfather William Bouchie, and great grandparents John and Lillian Everett, along with several beloved aunts, uncles, and her cousin Amanda.

Wake service to take place Friday Jan. 9, 2026, from 7pm – 11pm at Eternal Grace Funerals (10-1111 Logan Ave. Winnipeg MB).

Funeral service to follow on Saturday Jan. 10, 2026, at 12pm noon, also at Eternal Grace Funerals.

Cremation to follow.
