Kathleen Mary Shrimpton

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Mary Shrimpton (née Cherpako) on September 26th, 2025, at Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 55. She left this world peacefully with her loving family at her side.

Kathleen was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, sister, and friend. She will be forever remembered for her deep compassion, her fierce dedication to helping others, and her passion for fighting for people with disabilities and anyone in need of a hand to hold or a voice to stand up for them. Kathleen’s love and generosity touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She leaves behind her husband, Michael Shrimpton, and her sons, Colin (Tenesha) Cherpako and Braden Cherpako. Kathleen’s greatest joy was being a grandmother to Xenon, Joshua, Anne Marie, and Abigail, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her sisters Lisa and Heather, and her sister-in-law Heather (wife of her late brother Jeff Cherpako). Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, John and Diane Cherpako, and her brother, Jeff Cherpako.

A service to celebrate Kathleen’s life will be held at Eternal Grace Funeral Chapel, 1111 Logan Ave, on Monday October 6th, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Following the service, there will be a potluck luncheon to share memories and fellowship, and then a procession to Assumption Cemetery for interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathleen’s name may be made to Manitoba Possible, an organization dedicated to supporting people with disabilities — a cause she championed throughout her life.

Though her time with us was far too short, Kathleen’s love, strength, and compassion will live on in her family and in all the hearts she touched.
