It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our uncle Albert Bittern, on March 8, 2026, at his residence in Berens River, MB.
Albert was 69 years old and lived in Berens River his entire life. Albert was a humble, quiet, easy-going person. He worked for the Frontier School Division for a number of years as a custodian at the school.
He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Ellen Bittern; his sisters Dorothy Green and Carmel Berens; brothers Andrew, Marcel, and Benard Bittern; nephews Emile and Kyle; and his nieces Velma and Margaret.
Surviving his passing are his nephews Gerald (Mabel), Lorne (Melanie), Allen (Renea), Ernest, Darcy (Cecile), Preston (Maria), Eric (Blair), Reynold, Joey, Jonah (Darla), Harry, Melvin, and Daffy; nieces Valerie (Rudy), Beverly, Maureen (Doyle), Ernestine, Olga, Karen, Miranda, Jackie, Mearl, Georgina, Hailey, and numerous great nephews & nieces too many to mention; and his friends Clovis, William, John George, and Donald & Marvin Everett.
Wake service to be held on Monday March 16, 2026, from 7pm – 11pm, at Eternal Grace Funerals (10-1111 Logan Ave. Winnipeg MB). Conducting city service will be Marlene Green.
Wake services to continue Tuesday March 17, 2026, and Wednesday March 18, 2026, from 7pm – 12am, at the United Church, in Berens River Manitoba.
Funeral service to be held on Thursday March 19, 2026, at 11am, also at the United Church.
Interment to follow in Berens River First Nation.
