It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jim (J.J.) Joseph Whiteway of St. Laurent at the age of 40.
Jim (J.J.) was loved by many family and friends. He had a special bond with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles. Son Jim Junior, Grandmother Andrina Whiteway. Siblings; Dan, Andrew, Sara (Corey) Vera, Chelsea (Tyler), Russell, Larry and Tina. Nieces and nephews; Alexis, Olivia, Jadyn, Cree, Shay, Hana (Kurtis), Lucas, Ryan, Taylor, Tieller, Tatum, Charlie, Great Niece Hazel, Parents Scott and Lola, dear friends Bridgette Dick and Shaun Hourie.
Since he was young, Jim (J.J) loved hockey. He played in his younger years and enjoyed watching the game with family and friends. It brought him joy that Canada beat the U.S. in the 4 Nations Cup. Jim (J.J.) also had a love for dogs. He was a dog Uncle to Ace, Blue, Frankie, Yoshi and Levi. One of his biggest enjoyments in life was the outdoors. He loved to bike ride, quad, fish, sit around a bonfire, and watch beautiful sunsets on the lake.
Family and friends were most important to Jim (J.J) he loved to chat, visit and laugh with every single one. Jim (J.J.) was a dedicated employee throughout his career. He took pride in working hard and serving his community. He was known for his kindness, heart of gold and gentle soul.
Jim (J.J) is now soaring with his Mom Freda and cousins Carla and Julian.
Viewing and Service will take place Friday March 7th 2025 7pm to 11pm in Winnipeg at Eternal Grace Funeral Home. Cremation to follow. Interment at a later date.
