James (Jamie) Oscar Tom

In Loving Memory of James Oscar Tom (Jamie). It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jamie at the age 45, at his home on November 22, 2025, to be with the Creator. Jamie was born on August 31, 1980. Jamie left this world far too soon, leaving behind a family and community who loved him beyond words.

Jamie was known for this kind heart, gentle spirit, and the deep respect he showed to everyone he encountered. He stayed closely connected to his relatives, calling often, checking in and offering his love and support in every way he could. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to those fortunate enough to know him. Jamie’s loving nature made him a cherished son, sibling, uncle, cousin, and friend. His compassion, humility, and generosity will forever be remembered by all who shared his life’s journey with him. As we grieve his loss, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit now joins our ancestors with pride and happiness. May he rest peacefully as he continues his journey in the spirit world.

Jamie was predeceased by his grandmother Mamie, grandfather John, and uncles Charlie, Robert &, Sandy, and Auntie Susanne. Grandmother Mary Thorassie Hughes, Great grandparents Solomon & Annie Thorassie and Grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Ivan Belfour.

Survived by his beloved mother Bernice, father Ivan, sister Ashley, brother Matthew, stepbrother Dwayne and stepsister Alex Richard, nieces Tyanna, Hope, Angel & Cherish nephews Jagger & Raycer. Uncle Jerry, auntie Edith, auntie Jeannie, Auntie Celia, & Auntie Alice, Uncle Philip Thorassie Hughes, Uncle Derek Hughes, Auntie Angela Hughes.

Jamie also leaves to cherish his memory, cousins Martin, David, Monica, Jennifer, Ron, Tanya, Shannon, Robert Jr. Charity, Janelle, Jamie-Lea, Cody, Dayle, Mamie, and numerous, aunties, uncles and cousins, including Lanza.

Losing you James (Jamie) is a pain I can barely put into words, a part of me is broken. It still doesn’t feel real, and my heart aches in ways I never imagined. I keep thinking about all the beautiful memories we made, the moments that were ours, the laughter, your hugs, your silliness, the talks, the little things only you and I understood. Those memories are a piece of you that I will hold onto forever. My son Jamie, I will miss you every day, and I will love you fiercely with all my heart for the rest of my life.

Wake Service will be held on Tuesday December 2, 2025, from 7:00pm – 10:00pm at Eternal Grace Funerals (1111 Logan Ave.)

Funeral Service on Wednesday Dec. 3, 2025, at 11am, also at Eternal Grace Funerals.

Interment on Wednesday at Brookside Cemetery.
