Irma passed away peacefully, from this life into external life, on Saturday, April 12,2025. She was predeceased by her loving husband Alain L. Remillard on April 28, 2020. A celebration of life will be held for both Irma and Alain on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, 11:00 am at the Eternal Grace Funeral Home 1111 Logan Ave, Winnipeg, MB.

Irma was also predeceased by her son Paul Alin Remillard (2021), father Cleophas Desautels, mother Alice Desautels (nee Lansard), brother Jules Desautels, sister Anita Cyr (nee Desautels), and sister Simone Comeault (nee Desautels).

Irma was a loving wife, mother, and grand-maman and leaves to mourn two daughters: Gisele Remillard (Ron) and Alice (David) Walker, grandkids: Dorian and Gray Allison Walker, 2 brothers: Ephrem Desautels and Ernest Desautels, brother-in-law: Marcel Comeault, many nephews and nieces and other extended family and friends.

Irma was born in Sainte-Ann-des-Chênes, Manitoba on March 7, 1943 to Cleophas and Alice Desautels. She was the youngest of 6 siblings, with 3 older brothers and 2 older sisters.

Irma graduated from Nursing in May 1963 from the St. Boniface Hospital. She married Alain on September 14, 1963. Irma and Alain moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in October 1964. Irma worked at St. Joseph’s and Midway Hospitals in St. Paul, MN. In 1972, they built a home in Lakeville, Minnesota where they lived until 1980.

Irma and Alain moved back to Winnipeg in 1980 to be closer to family. Irma worked at Victoria Hospital and Foyer Valade Nursing Home (now Actionmarguerite St. Vital), for about 20 years. Irma was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at the age of 54. Irma and Alain enjoyed their retirement traveling throughout Canada and the United States. Their favorite place to visit was Holtville, California.

Irma was a creative soul who enjoyed sewing, crafting, painting, and needlepoint. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Irma enjoyed leading and participating in weekly bible studies all the way until her last week of life. She was a faithful servant of the Lord. We know Irma is happy to be reunited with the Lord, Alain, Paul, and all those who have predeceased her.

Revelation 21:4 - He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
