Gilbert Sutherland

Gilbert Sutherland was born December 29, 1981, in Edmonton, Alberta, and passed away on April 6, 2022, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, age 40 years old.

He is survived by his children Breanna Sutherland, Kadence Packo, Aneeka Fisher, Drayden Gott, Keeden Gott, and Kyle Nobiss; his parents Rita Flatfoot and stepfather Alfred Flatfoot; father Gilbert Chartrand and stepmother Patsy Chartrand; siblings Cheryl (Wayne), Steve (Rachel), Kevin (Jenna), and Calvin Delaronde; stepbrothers and sister; Virgil Lavallee whom he took as his brother; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and other relatives.

Gilbert was predeceased by his son Owen Packo; sister April Sutherland; his grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gilbert was a hard-working labourer, and in his spare time he enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, and playing the odd slots. He spent a lot of time with his daughter who he loved dearly. He has a very kind heart, and would help anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and loved him.

Wake service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, from 7pm – 11pm at Eternal Grace Funerals. Service will follow on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 12 noon also from the chapel. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy, Alex, and Anthony Ferland, Caylib Cote, and Micheal Richard.

Pallbearers will be Steven Flatfoot, Kevin Flatfoot, Geoff Mazarat, Virgil Lavallee, Roger Genaille, and Myles Ferland.
