It is with great sadness we announce suddenly on September 4th, 2025, with family by her side our mom has began her journey onto the spirit world at the age of 68.
Left to mourn and forever cherish her memory are her children Jason, Norma (Kevin), Lisa (Cornell) Kristen, Bonnie, Jamie, Amanda, Linda, Christopher (Jasmine), Raymond Jr. (Hannah), Ashley (Mike). Siblings Ivan (Nora), Billy (Irene), Collin, Wesley, Hilda (Alec), Helen (Stephen), Randy, Eugene, Moses, Michael. She also leaves behind her special granddaughters Courtney, Kaidence and many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who she loved unconditionally. As well as her uncle Bly (Madeline), special cousins Wayne (Cindy), Dollie, good friend Susan Nepinak, many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Mom is predeceased by her Parents Cecile Atkinson (nee Kakewash) and William John McKay. Siblings Clarence Kakewash, Sharon Kakewash, Patricia Yellowega, Valerie Pohl, Peter Pohl, Aunt Ida Kakewash, Uncle Collin Kakewash, special nephew Jeremy Roulette, niece Ardelle Kakewash and grandson Wally McLean.
Mom was the matriarch of the family, the strength that kept us all together, a true warrior woman, seamstress of star blankets and regalia for the community and surrounding area, Mom spent the last few years working with Abinooji-nigan as a board member, she enjoyed playing bingo with family and friends, Mom loved all those around her. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.
