It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Dereck Mondor on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at his home, at the age of 32 years old.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Sam Mondor and Verna Houston; paternal grandparents Stella Bailey and Alex Bailey; and grandparents Margret Vandal and David Vandal.
Dereck is lovingly remembered by his children Neveah Ross (Jessica Ross), and Mariah Perrault (Marie Perrault); Charlene Mondor (mother); Collin Sinclair (father); and Dennis Bailey (biological father). He also leaves behind brothers Collin (Jr) Mondor, Delroy York; sisters Erica Mondor, Sammy Sinclair, and Santana Sinclair; Also, nieces Janelle, Jersey, Aalaya, and Amaryah; nephews Jayce, Collin, and William; aunties Barbra Mondor and Angel Mondor; and uncle Albert Mondor.
Dereck was born and raised in Winnipeg. He had many different jobs in and out of Winnipeg. Dereck absolutely loved spending time with his kids, they were his world. He enjoyed basketball, hanging out with his friends, they were a part of his family. He loved to eat, especially a "mean burger" as he would say. He enjoyed getting tattoos, as every tattoo has a memory and meaning. Dereck was all about Family as he would say "Family over everything”. Dereck enjoyed cars, kush, cold beverages and Dr Pepper. Dereck’s most cherished moments were with his children.
The family would like to thank the following: all those who attended the Sacred Fire, those who donated food, water, and firewood. Special thanks to the Sacred Fire keepers/fundraisers; Gina and Virginia. Plus, thanks to cousin Cheryl Wirch for the Star Blanket, and to Cousin Linda Houston for all her support and for the wreath and arm bands.
Wake service and viewing will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 5pm -11 pm, with Pastors Paul Winters and Ryan from Living Word Temple officiating at 7pm at Eternal Grace Funerals. Cremation will follow.
