David “Davanth” James Beardy

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David “Davanth” James Beardy on June 10th, 2026, at Beacon Hill Lodge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

David leaves to mourn his only sister Doris Pierce; Nephews Norman Beardy, Darryl Beardy, Gerald Pierce, Kirby Beardy, Benjamin (Tulsa) Kirk and children; Niece Vanessa Beardy (Jason). Great-nephews Mano Storm Beardy, Seth Beardy, Jordan Beardy, and Jason Pratt; Great-nieces Erica Beardy and children, Emily Beardy and children, Danica Beardy, Maison Beardy, Allynah Pratt and children, Brittany Beardy and children; Uncle Peter Beardy; Cousins Elizabeth Traverse, Judy Shorting; Sister in-law Flora (Charlie) Mckay; Niece in-law Bernadette Forbes; In-law Marvin Thompson; Friends Lawrence Thompson and Nadine.

David was predeceased by his parents Adam and Christina Beardy; Brothers Bethel Beardy and William Beardy; Brother in-law William Pierce; Nieces Denise Beardy and Linda Thompson; Great-niece Amy Woodhouse; Nephew Paul Kirk; Paternal Aunts Ida Beardy, Martha Beardy, Mary Beardy; Cousin in-laws George Traverse and Wilfred Shorting.

David was raised in Lake St. Martin, Manitoba. He was a humble man. He was always happy, smiling, and loved watching movies, cartoons and wrestling. David was the baby of the family and loved by all. His late father instructed his daughter Doris to make sure that her little brother never went hungry and always had a place to stay. Doris fulfilled their fathers wishes to the end.

The wake service will be held on Monday, June 22nd, 2026, from 7pm – 10pm, at Eternal Grace Funerals (10-1111 Logan Ave. Winnipeg MB).

Funeral to follow on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, at 11am, also at Eternal Grace Funerals.

Pastor David Beardy will be officiating.

Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.

Pall Bearers: Darryl Beardy, Norman Beardy, Seth Beardy, Jordan Beardy, Burton Thompson, and Norman Traverse Jr.

Cross Bearer: Mano Storm Beardy.

The family would like to thank Lake St. Martin Chief and Council for the support and silent auction; Healthcare Aid Suzzanne for the medical care that she provided for David at Beacon Hill Lodge; and all the friends and family that offered their condolences, prayers and monetary donation.
