Daniel Sinclair Obituary

High Flying Eagle

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Daniel Philip Norman Sinclair (aka “Danny Boy,” “Boi Boi”) at the age of 45 at his home in Little Saskatchewan First Nation.  Danny was born on May 5, 1979, in Winnipeg, MB and left us on April 7, 2025, to make his way to the spirit world.

To cherish Danny’s memory, he will be sadly mourned by his son Hayden Nepinak, friends Charlene and Billie (Jonny), his father Daniel Sinclair Sr., his mother Sylvia Shorting, brother Durwin Sinclair, sister Shelley Sinclair, aunties Mary-Ann Pahl, Eleanor McKay (Allen McKay), Maxine Anderson, special aunt Darlene Ross, nephews Nathan Peters, Noah Sinclair and Zander Sinclair, nieces Christina Stevenson (Skylove, Heavenly, Phillip), Isabella, Peyton, Marlena Peters, and many other uncles & aunties, nephews & nieces, great-nephews & great-nieces, cousins, extended family and friends.

Danny was predeceased by his grandparents Norman and Isabella Shorting (McLean), Philip and Christina Sinclair (Thompson), uncles James Thompson, Wilfred Thompson, Ernest Sinclair, Mark Sinclair, Robert “Bob” Shorting, Arnold Shorting, Regenald Thompson and Allen Shorting, aunties Zelma Hunter, Dorothy Eastman, Olga Anderson and Sarah Thompson, sister-in-law Pamela Peters and nephew Jonathan Peters.

In Danny’s lifetime, he lived in Little Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, and Surrey, BC, where he made many friends.  Danny enjoyed working in the social services field, working alongside with children, parents and the vulnerable.  Danny loved being a father to Hayden, Danny’s nephew Noah was a second son to him, they were his pride and joy.  Danny enjoyed taking Hayden and Noah on outings and spending time together as they grew up.  Danny was quiet, kind, and loved by his nieces and nephews and loved to take them on outings. Danny and Hayden enjoyed going to movies, golfing, Winnipeg Jet’s games, going out to eat, and always talked about taking another trip to B.C. to visit with family and maybe move there one day.
