Daniel Jesse James Munroe

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Daniel Jesse James Munroe, born July 16, 1990, age 35, on December 31, 2025.

Daniel was born in Sachigo Lake First Nation, Ontario, he was born on the reserve at the nursing station, a natural birth something rare and very meaningful to the community. Making his arrival into this world very special. He was the beloved son of Christina Munroe (Marks) and Arthur Munroe.

Daniel was known for his unique style, kind heart, infectious laughter, sense of humor, and his unconditional love for his family and friends. He had a deep love for music and sports and truly cherished spending time with those closest to him. Daniel was generous by nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed working, learning, and bettering himself, and he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Daniel’s greatest pride was his son, Caine, whom he loved deeply.

He is survived by his son Caine; and the mother of his child Fenisha Peebles, his parents, Christina Munroe (Marks) and Arthur Munroe; grandparents Irene Rupp and Peter Rupp. His siblings Amanda Munroe, Jessica Munroe, Jazzden Munroe, John Rieck, Rubin Rieck, Taniya Munroe, Tomei Munroe; his stepfather Rudolph Rieck; his stepsister Raven Catcheway; as well as many cousins, relatives, and close friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Daniel was predeceased by his grandparents Mary Munroe, Arthur Munroe, and Gerald Marks; his uncle Peter Rupp Jr.; and his aunts Linda Munroe and Nora Munroe.

Daniel will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his warmth, laughter, and the love he gave so freely. His memory will live on through his son, his family, and all the lives he's touched.

Wake service to be held on Thursday Jan. 22, 2026, from 5pm – 11pm, at Eternal Grace Funerals (10-1111 Logan Ave. Winnipeg MB).
