It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dakota Tre Raven on January 24, 2024
at the young age of 21.
Dakota was born on August 5, 2002 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to his parents Tara Harper and Justin Raven.
He was pre-deceased by his mother, Tara Harper and his baby sister Crystal Ducharme.
Dakota was a brother to Freedom, Faith and Tara, along with Faith, Aaliyah, Elijah.
Father to Secora, and boyfriend to Chelsea.
A Grandson to Rita, Alma and Marty,
Nephew to Crystal, Jeremy and Randi, Lucille (Lulu) and Shannon.
Foster Son to Jeremy and Teresa.
Dakota was a nephew to many other aunties and uncles, a cousin to many and had numerous
friends. Dakota was a member of the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation.
Family connections were always highly important to Dakota and he always worked hard to keep
in touch with those he loved. Dakota often liked to visit his nana, his aunties, and other family,
especially if there was a birthday party involved! He particularly loved spending time with his
younger sisters. Dakota was a loving father to his daughter Secora and he was always tender and
attentive in his care for her, delighting in playing with her and being with her.
Dakota was a gifted artist who particularly liked to do art with people’s names on them. He
would frequently gift people with a piece of art with their name on it to show them that he cared
about them. Dakota also enjoyed music, both listening to it and writing it on his own and with
Dakota will be greatly missed by many that he left behind. His big bear hugs and warm smile
will never be forgotten.
