Cureston Deanna-Shanish McKay

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Cureston Deanna- Shanish  McKay, Summer Sweet Grass on Friday, November 8,2024 at the age of 28 years old.

Cureston leaves to mourn her beautiful children Isebella Deanna Georgette Edith McKay, Chidinma Ezra George McKay-Ihebuzor, Ugochukwu Anthony James McKay-Ihebuzor, her mother Nadia, brothers Evan, Elijah, Ricky, Creedon, sister Deanna. She also leaves to mourn her grandparents Denise (Vince) Moar, John Bear Sr., Jane Mallette, and Steve McKay, her favorite aunty Nichole, many uncles, aunts and cousins too numerous to mention, as well as her best friend Stephanie Sinclair, her best friend in life.

Cureston was predeceased by her father Sheldon McKay, chapans Jim and Gertie McKay, grandmother Edith Mancheese, Uncle Ricky Mancheese, and aunty Deanna Mancheese.

Cureston was an amazing mother who loved her children so dearly, she loved taking her kids on outings, always making sure they got to school on time, and were always well taken care of. Regardless of being so young, she was a matriarch of the family and always looked out for everyone.

“You will be missed; we love you baby girl.”

Wake service will begin on Wednesday November 20,2024 from 6:00 p.m. – 11 p.m. at Eternal Grace Funerals, 1111 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.

Cremation to follow.
