Cory Calvert Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cory Bradley Calvert, on Friday the 24th of May 2024. Proud father of seven children, and one grandchild. Pre-deceased by his wife Beverley Calvert (Nee Beardy) and their daughter Precious Calvert. He leaves to mourn; his daughter Vanessa Calvert, Grandson Arthur, partner Rachel and their children Raquel, Rhianna, Ryder, Rosalina, step-daughter Rhea, and Ryan. His Mother Debbie and siblings Tommy, Angel (Donald), Kelly (Nichole), Melissa (Daryl).
Honorary Paul Bearers are Harold Wadin, Tommy Calvert, Kelly Calvert, William Nelson, Dustin Fagnan, and Kelly Jr. Beardy.

Cory was born on April 16th, 1984, in Dauphin (Dolphin) Manitoba. He moved to Winnipeg in 1987 with his family, where he attended Machray School, then Faraday School. Cory spent a lot of time at The Bridge playing pool, and that is where he found his love of woodworking. Cory also attended St. Johns high school, after high school he moved to Transcona where he started work at all fab. Cory’s favorite pastime was fishing with his family, especially with his little buddy (Nephew) Nathanial. If you were looking for cory in the summertime you would find him down at the river fishing with his brother and his buddies or camping with his family. One year while camping we had forgotten a cheese grater, and Cory had made one out of a tin can. Nothing kept him from his food.

Cory rode his bike everywhere, Winter and summer. He was always helping everyone-whether it was shoveling snow for a pregnant lady’s walkway, cutting trees in his aunt’s yard, helping his family with their many on-going projects, putting a gate in his sisters back yard where he was asked if he was digging to China – once it was built it wasn’t meant to come down. Cory built numerous doll houses, picnic tables, toy boxes and loft beds for his kids and family.

One time when Cory was building his sisters tree house, everyone had gone in for dinner and the ladder had gotten knocked down while he was on the second story. An hour later we went out to see why he wasn’t coming in for dinner, only to realize he couldn’t get down.

If Cory was around, you were guaranteed to be laughing.

Wake service will be held on Friday June 7,2024 from 6 p.m.-11 p.m. at Eternal Grace Funerals.

Cremation to follow.

He is riding with the angels now.
