Carlene Pruden Obituary
With tragic sadness, we announce and mourn the loss of a precious angel, Carlene
(Carter) Pruden. She is survived to be mourned by her son, Cahli Baptiste Pruden, her
siblings, Samuel, Samson, Jordan, Kylee, Sophie, William and Stella Pruden, Joshua,
Sheena, Jayden and Roxie Sumner, and her older sister April Barbeau Bracegirdle, her
parents Samuel Pruden and Colleen Marsden, her Kookum Jane Pruden, Aunts,
Uncles, nephews, nieces, stepmoms, as well as foster moms Debbie Hanson and
Susan Funk and many foster siblings. She is predeceased by her grandparents Lorna
Ross, Booboo Pruden and Joan Baxter, Uncle Henry, and two of her cousins.
Carlene was born on November 14, 1995, and spent her early years with her mother
and father and brothers Samuel, Samson and Jordan in Lake St. Martin, Manitoba. She
loved playing outdoors with her brothers and their little white dog. For most of her
childhood she and her brother Samson lived with Debbie Hanson in Winnipeg and for
most of her teenage years she lived with Susan Funk out in the countryside of Winnipeg
and Dreamcatchers. She loved getting together with her brothers whenever possible
and family always remained incredibly important to her. Throughout their entire
childhood, Carlene was the fierce protector of her baby brother Samson, but then when
they grew up, she stayed tiny and he grew tall, so the roles were reversed. She gave
birth her precious baby boy Cahli on September 15, 2015, with his father, Calvin
Baptiste. She loved her son with all of her heart and losing him was devastating to her
spirit. She spent many of her adult years side by side with her mother.
Carlene had an incredibly soft spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand to
everyone with no questions asked. She was the type of person who you could always
share your thoughts freely with. She loved with her whole heart. In her free time, she
loved writing poems and songs and playing on her guitar. In her teenage years, she was
gifted a guitar and always made sure to have it with her from then on. Everyone who
ever knew her from childhood through to adulthood, remembers her beautiful giggle and
her fun little dances. Carter, you are so loved and will never be forgotten, may you
continue to dance your way through the spirit world.
Wake Service will be held at Eternal Grace Funerals in Winnipeg, MB on Saturday,
February 3, 2024, at 7pm-11pm. Service will start at 7:30pm with cremation to follow.
