It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Joseph Ledoux of Winnipeg, Manitoba on Friday November 1st, 2024. Brian was born on November 20, 1956 in Duck Bay, Manitoba to Evelyn and Abraham Ledoux. Brian was a beloved Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend who always had a joke to tell and a laugh to share, he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Brian grew up in Duck Bay, Manitoba alongside his 10 siblings; Sister Angela Flett (Clifford), Sister Adele Ledoux, Sister Joann Maynard (Dave), Sister Loretta Thompson (Glen), Sister Debbie Laubman (Ron), Sister Sheila Pelletier (Andrew) and Sister Vivian Scott (Anthony). He is predeceased by his Sister Maryann Richard, Brothers Louis Ledoux and James (Jimmyboy) Ledoux, and his parents Evelyn and Abraham Ledoux.
Brian is survived by his daughter Erica Kathleen Wilson, who was born to Brian and Sandy on October 25, 1994. Brian shared many stories of travelling home to Duck Bay with Erica and taking her to Kettle Hills (Blueberry Patch) where Brian spent many summers picking blueberries with the family. He expressed how proud he was of the young, beautiful strong women she grew up to be. He is also survived by Lillian Mann (Partner) whom he shared many wonderful years with. He often spoke of their Bingo and Casino outings which he enjoyed very much.
Brian attended elementary school in Duck Bay, MB than in his teenage years he attended residential School in Cranberry, Portage. Brian soon established himself in Winnipeg, where he got a job with CP rail that lasted his career. He worked on the Tie/Steel gang for CP rail from 1988 to 2021 the year he retired. He spent many years traveling for work with shiftwork from 3 weeks away and one week home.
Brian enjoyed the company of family and friends, visiting, laughing and sipping tea/coffee or a cool beer. He liked to play cards, Rumi and Crib. He enjoyed his walks throughout the North End in his later years. He often spoke of his Dads (Abrahams) little shack where his dad often played the fiddle by fire stove. He loved to hear fiddle music, he enjoyed attending functions where music and laughter can be heard. He was very proud of his Nephews and Brother in law Clifford with the Chris Barker Band and the music they created over the years.
Brian will be remembered for his humor, love and kindness he shared. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who was near to him.
