Brandon Normand Obituary

It is with profound sadness that I announce the sudden passing of my big son Brandon Daniel Stanley Normand (Spence) age 27 years. Brandon was a proud member of Long Plain First Nation.

Brandon is survived by his mother Melissa Robinson and husband George. His father Bruce Spence. Brandon has one brother, Malcolm Normand whom he protected and loved deeply. His partner and mother to his children Sarah Gunn. Brandon has 4 beautiful children that he loved immensely; Brandon Spence 12, Brooklyn 7, Serena 5, and baby Jacob 4 months. Brandon's Granny and Gramps; Deborah and Stanley Normand whom he absolutely adored. His Granny was his absolute best friend. Brandon was still blessed to have two of his great Grandparents in his life; his Grandma Mary Spence and his Grandpa Jacob Pavia. He is survived by his many aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Brandon is predeceased by his Granny Hilma Spence and his great Granny Sylvia Pavia and great Grandfather Gerald Gionet. His very special uncle, Random Normand whom I'm sure was the first one waiting for him on the other side. What a beautiful reunion it must be up there on the other side.

Brandon was a hardworking individual and devoted student. He was working and going to school full time at the time of his death. He was working for First Nations Health and Social Secretariat and studying to obtain his Bachelor of Social Work degree at the University of Manitoba Inner City Program. He was a very proud member of Bear Clan Patrol Inc. He had the biggest heart and it showed in what he did. He loved what he did and made some great relationships along the way.

Brandon was our gentle giant. He was such a silly, goofy, loving boy. He's going to be greatly missed. I know his fur siblings, Buddy the dog, Lucky, his Beanie girl, his garbage Hersh, and Small boy will miss him coming over and teasing them.

Funeral services have been made and anyone and everyone that loved my boy is welcome to attend.

Saturday, April 1st, 2023, from 4pm to midnight will be his viewing and wake. Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, at 1pm will be his funeral. Both days will be held at Eternal Grace Funerals.

Cremation to follow the end of his services.

Our family has requested that singers and drummers join us and embrace us with songs.

We want to send a very special thank you to Meagan Salwan and Christy Salwan for being there and providing us with songs to help heal our broken hearts.

To our two elders who will be there to share ceremony and smudge, Gramma Geraldine Shingoose and Denny Murdock.

Brandon’s pallbearers consist of his extra special cousins, brpther, and friend. They will have the honor of carrying my boy one last time.

Vinnie Spence, Malcolm Normand, Michael Spence, Random Normand Jr, Darius Normand, and his mentor and friend Kevin Walker.

Our family would like to thank everyone for being there. The amount of support from everyone that loved him and loved us has been overwhelming. From our community organization such as

Bear Clan, Mama Bear Clan, our firekeepers, to our elders, we appreciate all the love and support.

My big son, you are loved. Im going to forever mourn you.

I love you, forever in my heart, love your “lil ma”
