Bernard Bonkowski Obituary

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Bernard Frank Dominik Bonkowski on November 2nd, 2025.

Born on April 15th, 1945, in Gimli, MB, Bernie spent most of his life in Riverton MB and Winnipeg MB. He lived a life full of laughter, kindness and love, and hard work. Well known for his smile and positive nature, Bernie was always the first to lend a helping hand.

He worked tirelessly through not only his career as a truck driver for many years, but in caring for those around him. He believed in doing good for others and found joy in the simple moments, fishing, hunting, time with loved ones, and blonde jokes.

Bernie will be remembered for his humour, generosity, and his dedication to his family and friends. To know him was to be inspired by his warmth and genuine spirit.

Bernard leaves behind his beloved family, his wife of 56 years, Candace; son John (Lisa); grandchildren Bree-Ann (Connor), Dorian (Sam), and Darian; great-grandchildren Charlie and Madison; elder sister Bernice (Andrew), younger brother Kelvin (Carol). He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of life will take place at Eternal Grace Funerals on November 18th, 2025, at 11am.
