Barry McCorrister

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Uncle Barry aka, (Butler) on September 21, 2023, at the Maples Personal Care Home.

He is survived by his brother George McCorrister and sister Bernice Forslund. His son, and his adoptive daughters Samantha, Jackie, and Laverne, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He came from a large family that loved him dearly.

Barry was predeceased by his mother Lillian McCorrister, and his sisters Isabel Kent (Wilfred),and Pearl Dejarlais (John). Brothers Melvin McCorrister, Albert McCorrister. Uncle Oswald Ratee, Aunties Bertha Kipling, and Bella Packo, nephew Wesly Kent and Niece Mildred Kent

Barry was well known for his generosity and kind heart. He always gave a helping hand to people he knew and any of his friends from living downtown. He was fun-loving and liked   making people laugh. He lived with his sister Isabel's family and cared for her children like they were his own. They will miss him dearly. He also would have your back if anyone tried hurting his family.

He worked for the Acme Waste Department, where he would find little treasures. In Summertime he would work with the Tac crew during firefighting season. He was a hard worker and           always lent a helping hand.

Uncle enjoyed music; when he was younger, he had a gigantic collection of music with various artists. Every time he got paid, he bought a new record. He enjoyed every minute of visiting his    friends and family.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, between the hours of 6 p.m.– 8 p.m. at the Eternal Grace 1111 Logan Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Light lunch will be provided. Funeral Service will be on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel Pastor Marcel Okemow officiating with cremation to follow.

The family would like to thank all those who helped Uncle through the years. A special thank  you to his niece Denise Swampy.
