Augustin Delorme Obituary

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our father, Augustin Joseph Delorme, September 27, 1949 - June 9, 2025, at Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Augustin was born at the St. Boniface Hospital and lived and grew up in Wawota, Saskatchewan area during his youth. He also lived in several Manitoba communities and in later years Winnipeg, MB.

Augustin was a caring man who took an interest in anyone he met and would take the time to have thoughtful meaningful conversations with. Dad made time to make others feel important and heard. He was a well-mannered polite person who respected everyone he met.

Augustin had strong entrepreneurship skills and would put his ideas into action even winning an award for his business-like accomplishments. Augustin managed several businesses which included a hotel and a medical receiving home in the early 1980’s. Dad serviced the northern communities and had the opportunity to meet many people along the way.

In 1987, Augustin became an RCMP officer working in the Lac Du Bonet and Interlake area. Dad was a proud RCMP officer and often shared stories about some of the different situations he encountered and experienced. Dad also served with the Dakota Ojibway Police Service servicing southern Manitoba Indigenous communities and was a well-known police officer.

Augustin enjoyed many leisure activities such as hunting, fishing, trapping, and riding his motorcycle. Whatever dad enjoyed, his children were able to enjoy as dad always wanted to include his children in his adventures.

Augustin is predeceased by his parents, Felix Delorme, mother, Juliet McKay, twin sister, Augustina, sister Mary Lennie, niece, Julia Medwid, and his beloved son, “JR” Augustin Delorme, whom he loved and missed dearly.

Augustin has left to mourn his passing his children Cyril (Kathy), Kimberly, Elizabeth, Arlene, Shirlene (Joe), Terry-Lee (Hubert), Joanne (Rich), stepchildren Mike (Kathy), Tim (Misty), Kelly, and his “best buddy” Dillon, companion Margaret Maltby, and his most loved fur baby “Pip”. Dad also leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren including his great-granddaughter, “my Ariah”, whom he visited often.

The family would like to thank HSC hospital staff GD3 ward for all the care and compassion they provided Dad which he was very grateful and thankful for.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday June 19,2025 from 1p.m-6p.m at Eternal Grace Funerals.Cremation to follow

Don't remember me with sadness,

 Don't remember me with tears,

Remember all good times,

Shared throughout the years.

Now I am contented

That my life it was worthwhile,

Because I know by loving you

That I made you smile.

When you are walking down the street

And you've got me on your mind,

I'm walking in your footsteps

Only half a step behind.

So please don't be unhappy

Just because I'm out of sight,

Remember that I'm with you

Every morning, noon and night.
