Arnold Morris Ross

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Arnold Morris (Joe) Ross on October 6, 2025, at the age of 77.

Joe was known for his kindness, compassion, and joyful spirit. He lived life to the fullest, always with a smile on his face and a positive attitude that touched everyone around him.

Joe was a hardworking and dedicated man who began his career with Channel Area Loggers. Following, Arnold was employed by the province of MB for 30+ years, firstly as the airport Heavy Equipment Operator. Through his commitment and leadership, he advanced to become Airport Manager, where he later retired. As a side occupation and hobby Arnold held a commercial fishermen’s license.

He became Chief of Berens River First Nation in 1993 – 1995 where his compassion and care for his community was evident in his term as a
leader. His dedication to his community was an inspiration.

Arnold was predeceased by his daughter Maxine Hudson (August 2023), his father William (Bill) Ross of Norway House (September 13, 1977); Mother Dorothy Ross (February 27, 2014); brother Roderick (Roddy) Ross (October 22.2023); as well as his in-laws Isaiah Boulanger who passed in 1980 and will be greatly missed and Daisy Boulanger who passed in 1983, and great grandson Ondre Hudson who passed June 2023. His grandson Corey, great-grandson Lucian (2022) and great-granddaughter Maddy-Lee (June 2012).

Diana Boulanger; brother Irvine Ross, sister Nora Ross, brother Wilfred Green and special niece Wendy Lynn Berens (Ross); grandchildren Annie (Jeremy) McDonald; Trisha (Mervin) Cook; Caitlin (Matt) Whiteway; Alexa (Lucian) Hudson; Cody Hudson, Kelly and Terry Mason; great grandchildren; Aveyah, Violet, Justin, Timmy, Noah and Crosby;
numerous other grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Joe will be remembered for his laughter, his generosity, and the warmth he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him.

Pallbearers: Lindsay Ross, Roderick Ross, Sylvan Boulanger, Mervin Cook, Lucien Flett, Abraham Bouchie, Isaac Ross, and Matt Whiteway.

A wake service will be held at the Eternal Grace Funeral Home Friday October 10, 2025, 7:00pm – 11:00pm.

A wake service will be held at the Berens River United Church Saturday October 11, 2025, 7:00pm -11:00pm.

Service for burial will take place at the Berens River United Church Sunday October 12, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM.
