Obituary

Allan (Al) Blatch was born in Victoria, B.C. where his father and mother, were stationed with the Navy. 

Al came from a family of all brothers. His parents Cecil Blatch and Elizabeth Blatch raised a family of four brothers: Thomas, Allan, Daniel, and Gordon.

Al maintained a lifetime career in the Graphic Arts Industry as an employee and business owner, up to his retirement. 

Al was known for his talent and artistic ability in packaging and design.

Al had a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Al had a penchant for fly out fishing trips and hunting excursions to the Sandilands Forest. 

Al prided himself on keeping his hunting grounds a secret and would only take a select few to his favorite spots in the Sandilands.

Al instilled the love of hunting and fishing in all his children.

Al will be sadly missed his dear friend and hunting partner late Alexander (Alec) Dunning. Al and Alec were lifetime hunting partners, who would track deer deep into willows and bring out their deer together.Al and Alec would sit at camp during hunting trips and share lengthy hunting stories. The two were always up for a good laugh.

Al is survived by his wife Helen and his seven children Vicky, Tina, Tricia, Albert, Lori, Bradley, and Dylan. Also, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Al was comical and funny.

Al was a loving husband and father who instilled in his children to go ahead and pursue their careers and interests.

Al maintained his friendships with his former wives Irene and Patsy. 

Towards the end of his life, Al had quietly battled numerous health issues, not wanting to burden his family.

Al left gently and peacefully at his home in Winnipeg - it was his way. 

Many thanks to the Palliative Homecare Team and his favorite homecare worker Olga. Olga and Al would share stories of hunting and fishing.

Cremation has taken place. A private celebration will take place. Family will be notified of the interment at Brookside Cemetery.

Al will be sadly missed.

Where is Dad? Gone hunting. He would always leave a lamp on to let you know he had left for his trip.
