Albert Bear Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Albert Bear on January 24th, 2025 in Winnipeg, Ma nitoba at the age of 67. Albert leaves behind to mourn his partner, Barbara Sinclair, his only sister Betsy Kematch, his adopted brother Allen Berens, his special niece Valentina Bear, and his step-children Vivian Sinclair (Dennis) and Wendell Sinclair (Joanne). As well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews and friends. Also, his brother in-law Donald, and his sister in-laws Jean, Flora (Charlie), Mary, Violet, and Doreen (Alvin).

Albert loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren he always had a special stash of candy for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever they visited. He enjoyed listening to his country music and he would get up to dance around. He also enjoyed spending time with his good friend Ivan, they called each other “the other half”. Albert also enjoyed cooking and playing board games with Barb.

During his lifetime, Albert worked in the fisheries occupation. He was a fisherman and then he worked different jobs in Dauphin River, Berens River and in Winnipeg.

Albert was predeceased by his parents Willie Flett and Juliet Robinson, his adopted parents Gordon and Charlotte Berens, his sisters, adopted sisters, his brothers, adopted brothers, too many to name and his step-son Kelly Sinclair. As well as his brother in-law Lawrence and Russell.

Wake services will be held on Monday, February 10th, 2025 from 7-10 p.m. at Eternal Grace Funeral Home, 1111 Logan Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Albert’s funeral services will take place on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Eternal Grace Funeral Home, 1111 Logan Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Burial service will follow at Brookside cemetery at 2 p.m. The pallbearers will be Dan Daniels, Shane Moar, Theo Moar, Justin Ryle, David Berens, and Rudy Berens.

The family would like to thank Health Sciences Centre, Dialysis Centre on Sherbrook, Berens River First Nation, Lake St Martin First Nation for their support during this time. Also, to brother Tom officiating the service.
