Verena Marie (Nee George) Bruce

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, sister and mother in law and good friend to many.

Verena leaves behind her loving husband of 37 years, Reginald Bruce Sr, her 1 daughter Jennifer (Nelson), 2 sons Quinn and Reginald Jr. (Jessica), 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Her father Norman George of Berens River, her 7 sisters and her 3 brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Clara George in 1985 and her mother-in-law Violet Bruce in 2009 and her nieces and nephew whom she loved.

She leaves behind many who loved her, cherished her and will greatly miss her. She was known to be a wonderful cook to many who knew her and loved her cooking especially her buns. She was the person to call when we needed recipes, advice or to cook for a big family dinner. We will miss her very much, especially her loving, giving, affectionate and warm hospitality. Her doors were always open for people needing a place to stay. She spent her free time writing and sharing recipes for her sisters and family. Cooking was one of her passions and was one of the ways of showing her love. We love you and never forget you Momma. Wake service will be held on Wednesday November 13,2019 7pm-12midnight at Eternal Grace Funerals 1111 Logan Ave. (at McPhillips St). Funeral service will follow on Thursday November 14,2019 at 11am also at the chapel. Rev. Alice Belmore officiating. Interment Brookside Cemetery.
